STV is seeking a Project Controls Manager to join our Project Controls team at our Chicago, IL area offices. The right candidate will need to have a strong background in the aviation industry. The ideal candidate will have proven expertise in project scheduling, cost control, risk management, and performance monitoring. This role involves overseeing project controls activities, ensuring adherence to project schedules and budgets, and providing strategic guidance to project teams. The Project Controls Manager will play a key role in optimizing project performance, mitigating risks, and achieving project objectives. Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning: Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, including schedules, budgets, resource allocation, and risk assessments. Cost Control: Monitor project costs, track expenditures, and analyze budget variances. Implement cost-saving measures and strategies to optimize project budgets. Schedule Management: Create and manage project schedules, identify critical paths, and proactively address schedule risks and delays. Risk Management: Identify project risks, assess their potential impact, and develop risk mitigation strategies. Monitor risk factors throughout the project lifecycle. Performance Monitoring: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure project progress and performance. Regularly report on project status, milestones, and key metrics. Change Management: Manage project changes, evaluate their impact on schedule and budget, and communicate changes to stakeholders. Quality Assurance: Ensure project deliverables meet quality standards and compliance requirements. Stakeholder Communication: Collaborate with project teams, stakeholders, and senior management to provide updates, resolve issues, and address concerns. Lessons Learned: Conduct project post-mortems and capture lessons learned to improve future project planning and execution. Industry Compliance: Stay current with industry standards, regulations, and best practices related to project controls in the aviation sector.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field. Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in project controls management, with specific experience in the aviation industry. Proficiency in project management software such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or equivalent tools. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to analyze project data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. Knowledge of project controls principles, including scheduling, cost management, risk assessment, and performance measurement. Experience in managing project changes, conducting impact assessments, and implementing change management processes. Familiarity with project management frameworks such as PMBOK (Project Management Body of Knowledge) and Earned Value Management (EVM). Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet tight deadlines. Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate teams, resolve conflicts, and drive project success.
Preferred Qualifications:
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent preferred. Experience working on large-scale aviation projects, such as airport expansions, terminal construction, or air traffic control systems. Knowledge of aviation industry regulations, standards, and compliance requirements. Experience with project controls software and tools for data analysis and reporting. Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, data visualization, and reporting dashboards.
Compensation Range: $125,724.10 - $167,632.13
