Pharma Maintenance Contractor Location: San Antonio, TX (Multi-site)
Reports To: Facilities Director / Operations Manager
Employment Type: Contract / Full-Time Job Summary: The Pharma Maintenance Contractor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and maintenance of pharmaceutical facilities in compliance with USP, GxP, NFPA, and other regulatory standards. This role ensures that all critical utilities and infrastructure are functioning optimally and that the facilities remain audit-ready at all times. The contractor will manage internal staff, external vendors, and contractors across five facilities in San Antonio. Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee day-to-day facility operations in compliance with USP, GxP, NFPA, and other applicable codes and regulations.
  • Ensure all localized utilities (HVAC, gas, water, electrical) are operational and compliant with regulatory standards.
  • Manage and coordinate activities of maintenance staff, contractors, and vendors.
  • Ensure timely completion of Preventive Maintenance (PMs), Work Orders (WOs), and Purchase Requests (PRs).
  • Maintain facilities in a state of audit readiness at all times.
  • Lead and manage repairs, construction projects, and facility enhancements across all five sites.
  • Conduct inspections of critical utilities (HVAC, gas systems, etc.) to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory codes.
  • Collaborate with local directors, managers, and service line leaders to address facility needs and improvements.


Qualifications: Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field. (Bachelor's preferred) Experience:
  • 7+ years of experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, or regulated manufacturing environments.
  • 3+ years in a leadership or supervisory role managing multi-site operations.
  • Proven experience with GxP, USP, NFPA, and FDA compliance standards.


Certifications (Preferred):
  • Certified Facility Manager (CFM) - IFMA
  • HVAC Certification (EPA 608 or equivalent)
  • OSHA 30-Hour Certification
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) - a plus
  • GMP/GxP Compliance Training


Skills & Competencies:
  • Strong knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, gas, etc.)
  • Excellent project management and vendor coordination skills
  • Ability to interpret and apply regulatory codes and standards
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems)



Estimated Min Rate: $49.00
Estimated Max Rate: $70.00
