Compensation

At S&C, we are dedicated to providing competitive and equitable compensation for all our team members, and we are committed to transparency in our pay practices. The estimated annual base salary range for this position is $137,500 - $182,129.2. Individual pay within this salary range is determined by several compensable factors, including performance, knowledge, job-related skills and experience, and relevant education or training. This role is also eligible for S&C's annual incentive plan (AIP), subject to eligibility criteria.

Are you passionate about Product Engineering? S&C Electric Company is seeking a dynamic individual to join our Underground Product Engineering team. As a Manager-Product Engineering, you'll be crucial in ensuring continued innovation and supporting our diverse team.

S&C is a specialist in high-voltage switching, protection and control, providing products for the electric power industry since 1911. Product Engineering - Underground is responsible for S&C's underground distribution products, including Vista UDS, Vista Green UDS, Vista SD UDS, Pad-Mounted Gear and future products. This position is for a capable, experienced engineer who is interested in joining the S&C leadership team to organize and drive production support activities, develop and deliver new features and functions for the existing PMG product family, and develop their team-members.

The responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Providing leadership to a team of engineers and designers
  • Providing technical leadership and guidance on major platform development efforts; working alongside project architect and sub-system architects in providing product and application background.
  • Resource tracking for project and team member allocation.
  • Leadership of team members executing tasks to support projects and filling in performance gaps as necessary.
  • Recruit, train and mentor team members to meet personal, professional and corporate performance objectives.
  • Identifying and supporting the investigation of issues using 4-step problem solving
  • Participating in Technical Design Reviews, Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA) events.
  • Presentation of significant findings, orally and in writing to senior management and engineers throughout the company.
  • Resource tracking for project and team member allocation.

To be eligible for this position you must at least meet these requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering; Master's degree preferred.
  • At least 10 years of experience in a Product Support, Design, or Development role with 3-5 years being within a leadership role.
  • Technical leadership experience in a major development project.
  • Experience with modeling and simulation environments such as Matlab, and Ansys.
  • Experience with high power and high voltage testing and the applicable test standards for switchgear.
  • Ability to work within a team and to build positive relationships with team members and project stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Desire to work in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
