Job Summary The Plant Manager will be responsible for providing strategic leadership for the company by working with the corporate and facility management teams to establish long-range goals, strategies, plans and policies. This person will need a working understanding of team leadership, team building, supervision, bargaining unit issues, and direction for operations to ensure conformance to our code of ethics, quality standards, delivery schedules, and financial goals. Job Duties
- Lead, supervise and direct all plant operations, including direct oversight of sales, estimating, production, scheduling, EHS, quality, engineering & maintenance, plus indirect oversight of accounting and HR personnel.
- Participate in developing the annual plant operating budget including sales by customer, part shipments, personnel needs, operating costs, and capital improvements.
- Operate the plant in accordance with company guidelines, financial control policies, and P&L management
- Develop and manage operational metrics, KPIs, and support continuous improvement in all aspects of plant performance including safety, productivity, cost, and customer satisfaction.
- Execute the annual plan - establish priorities and accountabilities; allocate resources; and guide the plant team to achieve their performance metrics.
- Communicate plant performance through weekly, monthly, and quarterly management reviews.
- Promote a continuous improvement culture.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive facilities plan for the site including equipment maintenance, capital, process reliability, and compliance with environmental protection and regulatory laws.
- Develop management, supervisor, and worker programs to attract and retain employees. Implement technical and leadership initiatives to develop organizational competencies. Be capable of leading the workforce through the ups and downs of the business cycle.
- Participate in recruiting, selecting, and developing sales and operations personnel. Provide guidance on job terminations, transfers, promotions, and salaries.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, AITX staff and community leaders.
Experience and Education
- Preference for bachelor's degree in Business or related field
- At least Seven plus (7+) years minimum experience required in an operations or heavy manufacturing environment.
- Five (5+) years minimum of successful management experience managing multiple levels with well-developed interpersonal and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to run a successful operation.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to translate strategies into operation objectives and projects.
- Strong analytical skills, self-motivated with excellent teamwork.
- Goal oriented and a strong customer service attitude.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Effective use of standard office computer technology such as databases, word processing, ERP and reporting systems.
- Knowledge of General Accounting Principles and effective accounting controls.
- Requires the ability to manage and prioritize multiple goals.
- Ability to effectively present information to broad groups of audience, including senior management and external customers.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with people at all levels of the organization.
