We are seeking a Property Accounting Manager to join our corporate office located in Jacksonville, Florida. This is a hybrid opportunity with 3 days in the office and 2 days working remotely.
This person will oversee the daily activities of Property Accountants, ensuring accurate and timely completion of tasks such as tenant escrow reconciliations and expense participation budgets. The role includes reviewing period-end activities, collaborating with the GL property accounting team to explain reconciliations to Property Management & Leasing Teams, and supporting ad hoc requests from Property Controllers, auditors, and other internal customers.

What You'll Be Doing:




  • Manage all day-to-day activities of Property Accountants to ensure all assigned activities are completed on time and accurately. Activities typically include activities such as reconciliations of tenant escrows (Common Area Maintenance, Insurance and Real Estate Taxes), tenant expense participation lease language review and set-ups in system, and annual expense participation budgets for an assigned portfolio of properties.
  • Review period-end activities for assigned portfolio, including YTD recovery estimates, prior period recovery impacts, and reconciliation of tenant recovery accruals.
  • Collaborate with the GL property accounting team to explain reconciliation impacts to the Property Management & Leasing Teams. Occasionally, assist other company functions on projects to ensure understanding of processes and workflow affecting reimbursable expenses recovery (e.g., mock reconciliations, major disputes, lease caps, etc.).
  • Support ad hoc requests from Property Controllers, external auditors, and other internal customers. Assist with booking special accounting transactions from a recovery perspective as needed (ex. Acquisitions/dispositions)


Are You Qualified?




  • Bachelor's degree with a concentration in accounting or closely related discipline
  • CPA or working towards getting CPA preferred
  • At least 4 years of accounting experience
  • At least 1-2 years of management experience preferred
  • Advanced level proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite preferred
  • Intermediate level proficiency with JD Edwards (or related accounting software), preferred
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills
  • Technical skills require research accounting treatment for certain transactions
  • Advanced knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and related concepts Ability to review legal contracts (leases) to ensure financial impacts are recorded in accordance with GAAP.
