Make your mark for patients
We are looking for an Ethics & Business Integrity Global Transparency Lead who ability to absorb a complex set of systems and processes that operate at UCB to generate transparency data, and rapidly interpret a novel requirement for a given country in the context of those operations to join us in our Ethics and Business Integrity team, based in our Smyrna, GA office.
About the role
You will report to the Head of Ethics & Compliance Monitoring, Insights and Transparency and act as the global process lead for the more than 30 global transparency compliance obligations to which UCB is subject. This role acts as the global eyes and ears for countries who have reporting obligations. While relying on country leads in medical or compliance for field-level insight and execution, this role will be charged with a high-level understanding of reporting obligations and processes for all countries where UCB operates, and just as importantly, setting the strategy that drives effective integration of UCB global transparency systems and processes with local functionality.
Who you'll work with
You will work closely with respective country leads in staying current on transparency regulations and proactively responding to evolution in requirements as it pertains to UCBs own operating environment.
What you'll do
- Establish the evolved strategy for and maintenance of the global transparency reporting obligations universe.
- Establish and deliver periodic (quarterly) updates on global reporting obligations confirming reports filed compliantly, reviewing dispute trends by country, previewing upcoming obligations, citing obstacles and reviewing action plans, etc.
- Act as the initial intake and collaborator for global processes related to transparency when there is a new regulation, change in existing process, custom policy or method established, or exception to an existing approach
- Prepare process flows, narratives, and contingency plans in response to a risk-prioritized set of potential changes in regulation to ensure UCB is dedicating resources in the right place at the right time in relation to global transparency
- Interpret the requirements of the legislation and evaluate its probability of manifesting, coordinating with local teams including legal, compliance, or medical as needed for subject matter expertise. Leverage experience of other country regulations or responses to changing regulations to proactively identify strategic synergies for any novel approach
- Review the local proposal for what information is collected and processed in the current approach, establishing an understanding of whether this requirement should be fulfilled locally and in a more custom manner while still connecting to a global output or system, versus being fulfilled using existing global systems and processes already in place for similar requirements
Interested? For this role we're looking for the following
Minimum requirements
- Bachelor's Degree
- Minimum 10 years of direct experience with escalating responsibilities in domestic (US) or global transparency reporting experience including interpreting regulations, managing disputes, conducting audits, building processes, coordinating stakeholders to ensure complete and compliant filing.

- Project management experience coordinating cross-functional stakeholders in the areas of technology, operations, compliance, and medical functions

- Ability to leverage prior experience in an agile fashion - blending prior transparency knowledge and ways of managing regulations and requirements into the comprehensive hybrid approach at UCB
- Experience prioritizing projects and needs in an organized and uniform fashion in order to allocate time and resources in the most effective and risk mitigating manner
- System knowledge of transparency reporting systems or processes leveraging software or third-party systems from entities such as IQVIA, IBM, SAP, Datamart, or similar
- Ability to work effectively with IT teams on data flows, system capabilities, and reporting tools and understand databases or systems that track transfers of value (e.g., Veeva, MedPro, Concur, SAP systems)
