We're looking for a Regional Environmental Manager to lead compliance, sustainability, and environmental strategy across our retail and wholesale operations.



Responsibilities

    Manage company operated and applicable wholesale locations environmental compliance to meet or exceed federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Maintain positive professional relationship with all federal, state, and local environmental officials.
  • Respond to any discrepancies or violations immediately and ensure the appropriate resolution is reached without exceeding deadlines. Notify the VP/Director of Environmental immediately of all violation notices and/or incidents that involve a threat to public safety or risk to the company.
  • Track, maintain and distribute up to date environmental compliance documentation for company operated and applicable wholesale locations.
  • Monitor ATG/BIR/SIR and other compliance data to ensure federal, state and local leak detection requirements are met.
  • Ensure mandated compliance testing is completed on time.
  • Monitor electronic contract programs and services to ensure they are being utilized adequately, meet regulatory requirements and minimizes risk to company assets.
  • Maintain accurate up to date environmental compliance databases and tracking documents.
  • Develop, implement and coordinate emergency response to release and vapor intrusion events
  • Meet or exceed federal, state, local and established company thresholds for fuel inventory control. Address fuel over/short variance issues expeditiously and take the appropriate action to resolve.
  • Prepare annual environmental budget, business plan and annual performance reviews to meet established deadline. Monitor and control spending activity to ensure cost is within or below budget.
  • Review invoices, identify billing errors, repeat/unacceptable service, and take the necessary corrective action. Negotiate cost reduction for services and utilize competitive service providers to reduce overall spending. Follow department /company accounting procedures when processing invoices.
  • Meet all established performance goals by agreed deadlines.
  • Assist in developing new and executing existing environmental training programs including EPA mandated operator training, for operations and wholesale staff. Attend meetings and conduct store visits/training sessions to ensure environmental compliance requirements are met. Remain current with all environmental regulations.
  • Assist and/or manage compliance related due diligence for potential acquisitions.
  • Respond to after-hours emergencies with a sense of urgency and take appropriate measures to minimize company risk and return product(s) back to service expeditiously.
  • Other work-related duties as requested by the VP or Director of Environmental.


Qualifications

  • 2-4 years of environmental compliance or convenience store management experience OR relevant degree in environmental science or related field.

  • Solid understanding of environmental regulations and compliance systems.

  • Excellent communication and analytical skills, with a keen eye for detail.

  • Confidence in interacting with executive leadership and field teams.

  • Self-motivated, tech-savvy, and capable of juggling multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.

  • Willingness to travel overnight as needed.
