Team leader with a high degree of knowledge in the overall field and recognized expertise in specific areas; problem-solving frequently requires analysis of unique issues/ problems without precedent and / or structure. May manage programs that include formulating strategies and administering policies, processes, and resources, functions with a high degree of autonomy and limited direction.
This senior analyst position supports clinical information systems aligned with UC Davis Health goals. This position is responsible for analysis, design, implementation, maintenance and high-level technical support of assigned clinical applications. This position will exercise initiative, originality and judgment in applying established principles and practices to new and unusual problems. Incumbent collaborates with technology infrastructure teams to assess and support application.
Collaborates with faculty in the hospital departments and clinics, implementing and supporting specialized, complex distributed clinical information systems and multiple complex ancillary/patient care systems. Incumbent has the responsibility for supporting large, complex and/or unique projects that affect multiple departments and will include product analysis and assessment, recommendation, implementation, testing and roll-out of new technologies.
This position required high degree of knowledge in the ancillary/downstream clinical application's life cycle management. Incumbent will perform complex clinical systems problem-solving and frequently conduct analysis of unique issues/problems without precedent and/or structure.

Minimum Qualifications - For full consideration, applicants are encouraged to upload license and/or certification if required of the position
- Bachelor's degree in health sciences, information technology, computer science, or related area; and/or equivalent combination of experience/training.
- Demonstrated comprehensive knowledge of clinical practices and principles
- Demonstrated ability to gather information from multiple sources and analyze applicability and appropriateness
- Demonstrated ability to develop workflows and integrate technology into clinical or operational workflows.
- Proficient in office automation software (word processing, spreadsheets, visual presentation, etc.)
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, leadership and change management skills to establish and maintain positive and productive working relationships
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in healthcare or information technology field.
- Academic institution or large integrated health systems experience preferred.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience with, but not limited to, one or more of the following clinical systems: MacLabIT, Scottcare Holter, Pyxis, Safe Labeling System, MUSE, ISCV, Syngo Dynamics, NOAH, NicoletONE Review, Easy III, Xltek, Vmax PFT, Hospitality Suite (dietary), Mosaiq, LM Lab Manager
- Exercises tact and diplomacy in working with others to secure necessary information and cooperation from a variety of people. Display effective collaborative decision-making skills.
- Knowledge of one or more database technologies.
- Knowledge of Network Attached Storage (NAS) and Storage Area Network (SAN).
- Knowledge of state-of-the-art network systems, using various hardware platforms and integration of multiple third-party software solutions, in a large network environment, with several remote computing interfaces, knowledge of standard computing network configurations and hardware including routers, hubs, repeaters, network interface cards, Ethernet, fiber-optics, LAN software, and diagnostic hardware and software.
- Demonstrated ability to learn assigned applications and meet proficiency in testing requirements. Maintain certification in assigned applications as required.

Work Environment
UC Davis is a smoke and tobacco free campus effective January 1, 2014.
