The Maintenance Manager is responsible for daily maintenance workflow, work order planning and execution, coordination of external supporting contractors, implementation of preventative maintenance plans, response to predictive tests and analyses, and general maintenance in support of plant operations
Key Elements:
- Provide planned, preventative, predictive, and reactive maintenance to plant physical assets.
- Direct craft resources in support of manufacturing activities. Establish priorities for work requested. Provide single point of contact for the maintenance effort as needed.
- Utilize the SAP Maintenance Management system for work requests, equipment repair history, repair cost tracking, instrument calibration scheduling and support of plant projects.
- Mentor maintenance members to enable successful completion of technical and operational assignments. Assist the mechanical and I&E leads in educating newer members of maintenance in plant people, equipment, and systems.
- Communicate responsibilities to team members, the team in general. Build the team into a productive and effective unit.
- Provide coaching and feedback, assist performance management, and review work completion.
- Coordinate maintenance material requirements with the Stockroom Coordinator and IFF Sourcing organization to best manage MRO physical stockroom inventory via the SAP Materials Management system.
- Ensure that all Maintenance activities comply with the plant quality and food safety requirements.
- Write and/or maintain plant policies and procedures affecting maintenance activities.
- Submit Purchase Requisitions and Work Notifications/Orders.
- Support and maintain plant automation systems.
- Comprehend and comply with all environmental, health, and safety policies.
- Provide night and weekend response to callouts and requests for maintenance assistance.
- Conduct new employee training to maintenance resources.
Organizational Responsibility:
- The Maintenance Manager reports to the Engineering Manager.
Qualifications:
- Incumbent should have a degree in a technology discipline and/or five years' experience in a maintenance assignment.
- The Maintenance Manager should possess good leadership skills including effective communications, organization, information management, training, and technical competence.
- The ability to work in a team-based environment is essential.
- Consistently strong performance appraisals are a pre-requisite for this assignment.
- Strong SAP developmental experience is desired.
