The Senior Specialist - Product Analysis candidate will be heavily engaged with the Office of General Counsel (OGC), providing valuable technical assistance to OGC attorneys and outside counsel and assisting trial teams in the development of defense themes and strategies in complex product liability, warranty and class action litigation.

The selected candidate will also perform nationwide forensic vehicle inspections with photography, system tests, and provide deposition/trial testimony in support of the Office of General Counsel in these matters, focusing on issues relating to various vehicle systems such as: Fuel, Fires, PHEV, Electronics, Automated Driving, Vehicle Dynamics, Seats, Functional safety, Restraint/Air bag and EDR. The candidate will manage the coordination of discovery requests for their assigned cases with outside law firms The candidate will also participate within the engineering community to review failsafe measures, functional safety risk analysis and provide recommendations to system features, responses, and functionality.

Basic Qualifications:



  • Minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Fire Science from an ABET accredited university (other Engineering degrees, certifications, and combined experience will be considered)
  • Minimum of FIVE (5) years in vehicle engineering, in at least one or more of the following areas: vehicle fuel systems, fires, PHEV systems, automotive electronics, Automated Driving, Vehicle Dynamics, Seats, Functional safety, EDR development, air bags and other safety and convenience systems
  • Must have a general vehicle knowledge of how safety and convenience systems, brakes, engines, and transmission's function
  • Ability to work within the engineering teams to gain design and development knowledge and information related to lawsuit allegations
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Stellantis Mainframe databases
  • Passion for excellence and drive to deliver in the face of obstacles and time constraints


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Fire Science or a combined EE & ME degree from ABET accredited university
  • Minimum of 10 years in vehicle engineering in several of the following areas: vehicle fuel systems, fires, PHEV systems, automotive electronics, Automated Driving, Vehicle Dynamics, Seats, Functional safety, EDR development, air bags and other safety and convenience systems
  • Ability to develop strategic options working with both business and technical assumptions
  • Ability to lead team of engineers and legal discovery groups in the execution of deliverables on a timeline which takes into account legal proceedings
  • Ability to prioritize issues based on legal and business risks and coordinate appropriate recourse to resolve
  • Ability to breakdown complex problems into to discrete tasks that can be executed by the team members
  • Ability to clearly communicate in both written word and verbally to management, engineering release teams, and inside and outside legal counsel
  • Proficient in the use of the Wi-TECH, obtaining crash tests and use of the Crash Data Retrieval (CDR) tool
