Job Description

Visa is seeking a Senior Paralegal to join the Global Product, IP and Services legal team to provide support to the Senior Managing Counsel responsible for advising and supporting Visa Marketing's internal creative services team (Ad Hock) and its creative marketing services provided to Visa's partners and clients. The position can be based in Atlanta, GA or Washington, D.C.

Applicants must be experienced in providing assistance on legal issues related to creative production and creative review. Applicant should be skilled at managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced and challenging, but highly rewarding, environment, have good judgment and strong organizational skills, be self-motivated, and most importantly, be an optimistic, curious, and collaborative team player.

Visa Is Looking For Someone Who Will (Essential Functions)

  • Assist in the legal review of marketing and promotional collateral and activity, including websites, advertising creative, social media content, offers, sweepstakes, influencer engagements, media integrations, and rights clearances.

  • Partner with the internal creative services team's business affairs manager to advise on rights management issues

  • Draft, review and/or negotiate a wide variety of creative and production related contracts and releases.

  • Assist in the building of internal processes and ways of working.

This position requires a business savvy team player who is collaborative with both marketing and legal colleagues, and demonstrates a capacity to work under tight deadlines with minimal supervision.

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

-5 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelors Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications

-6 or more years of work experience with a Bachelors Degree or 4 or more years of relevant experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or up to 3 years of relevant experience with a PhD

-Prior experience in marketing legal role or creative production legal role required

-MS Word and PowerPoint proficient

-Experience building legal support processes for new or evolving business offerings with strong organizational skills, prior project management experience is a plus

-Prior in-house experience preferred

-Must possess exceptional analytical ability and advocacy skills and the ability to integrate legal advice and business knowledge

-Effective verbal and written communication skills in all interactions with marketing and legal colleagues

-Practical and proactive problem-solver with a strong business acumen, must be confident, mature and calm under fire

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 105,900.00 to 145,800.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
