Summary
Responsible for overseeing and coordinating the administrative, scheduling, customer service and support functions within the Radiology department. This role involves managing a team of administrative support staff, ensuring smooth daily operations, and facilitating communication between various stakeholders through optimizing workflow, enhancing patient experience, and supporting the overall efficiency of the Radiology department. Does this position require Patient Care? No Essential Functions -Supervise and lead a team of administrative and support staff within the Radiology department. -Provide guidance, training, and performance feedback to staff members. -Oversee the daily administrative operations of the Radiology department, including scheduling, patient registration, and data entry. -Ensure a high level of customer service for patients and their families by addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and maintaining a patient-friendly environment. -Work closely with regulatory bodies and compliance officers to ensure adherence to relevant standards and regulations. -Oversee the implementation and use of radiology information systems (RIS) and other related technologies. -Collaborate with the IT department to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues. -Generate and analyze reports related to the performance of the Radiology Support Services team. Education Bachelor's Degree Healthcare Management required or Bachelor's Degree Related Field of Study required Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree? No Licenses and Credentials Experience Experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in a radiology-related field 3-5 years required Supervisory or leadership experience 2-3 years preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities - Familiarity with radiology department operations, scheduling, and patient services. - Strong knowledge of healthcare administrative processes and regulations. - Knowledge of medical coding and billing processes is advantageous. - Ability to effectively communicate with a diverse group of healthcare professionals, administrative staff, and patients. - Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to lead and motivate a team. - Proven leadership skills, including the ability to provide guidance, training, and performance feedback to staff members.
