R&D Project Evaluator

The R&D (Research & Development) Evaluator works within the Vehicle Economic Management Office (VEMO) to develop future product proposal resource requirements for project approvals. The Evaluator works with the Planning and Engineering teams to align the proposed vehicle attributes with the labor and validation means required.

Job responsibilities include but not limited to:



  • Guarantees the source, the quality, and the consistency of data
  • Leads the creation of the Economic Advice documents for all investments (R&D and CapEx)
  • The Evaluator leads the consolidation of all business unit inputs
  • The Evaluator works with Corporate wide groups, to analyze opportunities and converge on a proposal for corporate approval; this includes interaction with various levels of management
  • The Evaluator is responsible for loading and maintaining the project contract within Airflow
  • The R&D Evaluator must effectively support the deadlines leading up to each Corporate Governance approval event


The best fit candidate is an individual with Engineering and/or Financial experience that has a desire to gain full vehicle knowledge or exposure to other disciplines outside of their area of expertise

Basic Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Finance from an ABET accredited university
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience
  • Excellent MS Office skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)
  • Self-starter, innovative, and team oriented
  • Proactive problem-solving skills
  • Detail-oriented
  • Process driven


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Master of Business Administration or an advanced degree
  • Engineering Program Management experience
  • Vehicle integration and/or validation experience
  • Whole vehicle product awareness
  • Product development process knowledge
  • Knowledge of the different types of Engineering costs
  • Familiarity with finance terminology
  • Excellent relationship building skills
  • Ability to present ideas and concepts successfully to all levels of management
  • Ability to productively manage change
  • Data analysis experience
