Position Summary |
The purpose of this position is to support the operations of the student insurance plans by responding to inquiries, providing information, and assisting students and parents with the student health insurance plans. This position will also assist employees and retirees with benefits and retirement plan questions and issues, and determine, coordinate and implement solutions to benefits and retirement plan issues as appropriate. |
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies |
*Organized, detail oriented and able to complete benefits processes.
*Ability to communicate well with students and employees at all levels and co-workers as well as vendors, third party administrators and other
USG employees.
*Ability to do routine math computations.
*Ability to coordinate and complete administrative projects
*Ability to research and solve problems with benefits.
*Ability to compose memos and letters to explain benefits processes and solutions to problems.
*Experience with Banner student system *Experience with an
HRIS system such as PeopleSoft,
ADP or Workday.
*Experience with Excel, Word, PowerPoint
*Knowledge of employee benefits and retirement plans. |

- Responds to questions and assists students with student health insurance.
- Determines solutions and documents issues/problems so that they can be escalated to the insurance company vendor or the appropriate internal UGA department, such as Student Accounts, individual departments, or the Graduate School.
- Responds to questions and assists employees/retirees with benefits problems.
- Determines solutions and documents issues/problems so that they can be escalated to the appropriate vendor.
- Triage and escalate complex employee and student issues.

- Assists with compiling and processing data files for the student insurance vendor for multiple enrollment and waiver periods.
- Downloads reports, runs queries, and works on benefits error reports.
- Determines and coordinates solutions for errors as appropriate.
- Enters/updates information in appropriate systems such as Banner or the vendor system.
