Performs routine administrative support or technical program assistance work. Works under moderate supervision with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

Major/Essential Functions


  • To provide reception and administrative support to departments within Student Development & Engagement (SD&E): Retention Management, Student Engagement, Parent & Family Relations, College Readiness, First Gen and Mentoring Programs, and University Coaching & Student Achievement.
  • Manage drop-in appointments and appointment scheduling for the six departments in SD&E.
  • Manage email & phone processes for the six departments as needed.
  • Utilize Raider Success Hub as needed for each department.
  • Greet students, faculty, staff, visitors and direct to appropriate resources.
  • Participate in staff meetings as a member of each department as needed for programmatic knowledge.
  • Administrative support for Assistant Vice Provost as well as administrative coordination with Business coordinator.

Required Qualifications

Completion of high school or the equivalent. Five years office experience. Additional education may substitute for experience on a year for year basis.

  • The ability to apply general rules to specific problems.
  • Being open to change (positive or negative) and to considerable variety in the workplace.
  • Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
  • Experience in a post-secondary education setting in a clerical, secretarial or administrative role.
