We are currently hiring a Finish Supervisor

Location: Hoya Vision Care, 1400 Carpenter Lane, Modesto, CA 95351

What you'll do:

  • Assigns duties, prepares work schedules, and expedites workflow
  • Maintain time and production records
  • Examine defective machinery to determine cause of malfunction and corrects malfunction or reports needed for machine repairs and work closely with Maintenance Technician(s).
  • Inspects work in progress and finished products to ensure conformance to quality standards
  • Interprets company policies to employees and enforces safety regulations
  • Develops or revises standard operational and working procedures and observes workers to ensure compliance with procedures
  • Plan and directs production activities and establish production priorities while staying within effective operations and cost factors
  • Review and analyze breakage and key indicator reports to determine causes of quality or production issues
  • Completes employee performance reviews/evaluations and recommends salary revisions
  • Trains employees or delegates training responsibilities
  • Expedites workflow
  • Leads by example regarding safety policies and procedures
  • Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product
  • Analyzes and resolves work related problems and/or assists employees in solving work related problems
  • Become familiar with reviewing and analyzing DVI, breakage, and key indicator reports to determine cause of quality or production issues
  • As a Leader, he/she is responsible for maintaining quality-oriented production throughout the department and for developing not only oneself, but for those that they are working with and coaching. Must assist in developing our employees' knowledge base and aid in their development within the department and company.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma required, associate or bachelor's degree preferred
  • Supervisory-level experience in a production/manufacturing environment required
  • Must demonstrate critical thinking skills in anticipating challenges, problem solving and seeking resources
  • Able and willing to coach, train, mentor, and work as a team
  • Experience in the Optical Industry as it relates to ophthalmic lenses (preferred but not required)
  • Must possess adequate computer skills
  • Must be able to work Overtime and Saturdays when needed
