Job Description

The Department of Engineering and Information Technology in collaboration with the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) at the University of Missouri campus invites applications for a Teaching Professor position at the Assistant or Associate level. This role will support the educational mission of the department and the Information Technology degree program. We are looking for a dynamic and dedicated faculty member for teaching undergraduate Computer Science courses in programming, machine learning, artificial intelligence (AI), and/or cybersecurity. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in these areas and a passion for teaching and mentoring students. Ranked teaching professors engage in departmental, college, and university-level activities and have access to professional development opportunities. This is a non-tenure track faculty position.

Qualifications

The position expects strong interest and commitment to teaching, mentoring, and supporting students at the undergraduate level. Applicants must be able to teach and develop a variety of undergraduate courses in Information Technology. Areas of particular interest include courses in Cyber Security, Machine Learning, and Software Engineering.

Qualifications

Applicants must have at least an M.S. in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related field by start of the appointment.

Candidates will be evaluated on their background in the fundamentals of Information Technology or Computer Science as well as having a Ph.D. degree, and their experience in undergraduate teaching in their respective discipline, ability to teach and develop courses in Information Technology and related emerging computer technologies, demonstrated ability to engage and motivate students in technical subjects, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
