Overview

The Business Systems Analyst (BSA III) serves as a strategic partner, leading the alignment of complex business needs with advanced IT solutions. In this senior capacity, the BSA III takes ownership of eliciting, analyzing, validating, and managing the comprehensive requirements of diverse stakeholders, including executive leadership, customers, and end users. The analyst not only drives collaboration between stakeholders and technical teams but also ensures that system solutions support and advance organizational strategy. Senior BSAs are entrusted with overseeing large-scale, high-impact initiatives as well as guiding enhancements for commercial insurance quoting and policy management systems, often acting as a subject matter expert and a mentor to other team members.



Responsibilities

    Serve as the lead liaison between executive stakeholders and IT teams, ensuring strategic alignment throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Translate complex business requirements into functional specifications for commercial insurance systems.
  • Provide subject matter expertise and strategic guidance across assigned domains and initiatives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to manage system changes, ensuring data integrity and workflow optimization.
  • Lead issue analysis and resolution efforts to maintain system performance and scalability.
  • Support implemented systems with expert troubleshooting and enhancement recommendations.
  • Facilitate agile communication and stakeholder engagement using best practices.
  • Use SQL for data analysis and actionable insights.
  • Participate in demand planning and evaluate high-impact business requests.
  • Document requirements, process models, and user stories with clear acceptance criteria.
  • Mentor junior analysts and lead large-scale strategic projects.
  • Validate developed functionality with technical teams and end users.
  • Partner with underwriting, actuarial, finance, and IT to identify needs and recommend improvements.
  • Conduct gap analyses and propose solutions for efficiency and compliance.
  • Oversee UAT, training, and post-implementation support.
  • Ensure compliance with data privacy, regulatory, and governance standards.
  • Provide senior oversight on project planning, timelines, and risk assessments.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science Degree or equivalent business experience required.
  • 5 plus years of Business Systems Analysis experience in the design and development of complex business systems.
  • Property and Casualty Insurance experience and knowledge of Property & Casualty Insurance products, systems, workflows and processes strongly preferred.
  • Extensive expertise in advanced business analysis methodologies
  • Proven track record of applying a wide range of industry leading business analysis techniques to drive strategic initiatives and complex projects.
  • Demonstrated expertise in evaluation and delivering strategic recommendations to optimize complex business and systems processes, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and industry best practices.
  • Proficient with using end to end life development lifecycle and team/project management tools such as Azure DevOps, Jira or Confluence.
  • Extensive experience overseeing all phases of the SDLC, from requirements gathering and design through testing and ongoing support, with success, in an agile environment.
  • Exceptional ability to articulate complex concepts to both business and technical audiences through both verbal and written channels.
  • Senior professional with proven excellence adapting to dynamic, fast-paced environments and managing evolving priorities while maintaining steady performance.
  • Expertise in fostering effective collaboration with Project Sponsors, governance stakeholders, Core Project and Delivery Teams.
  • Demonstrated capability to impart expertise and mentor team members through structured knowledge sharing.
  • Proven ability to operate with minimal oversight, while also driving collaboration and coordination across teams on complex and large-scale projects.
  • Must be proficient in tools used to support business analysis including Word, Excel and Visio.
  • Expert at leading executive meetings and strategic workshops, aligning stakeholders, teams and advancing complex projects.

The expected salary range for this role is ($87,600.00 - $105,000.00)
