Job DescriptionWe are looking for a public affairs and communications professional to join as Senior Manager, North America Communications and Public Affairs. In this role, you will help to drive communications programs that support our policy and legislative priorities at the U.S. federal and state levels, as well as our broader storytelling across the North America region. You will work in partnership with U.S. Government Engagement (focused on federal, state, international and regulatory affairs) and cross functional teams across the business, and in conjunction with clients. You will also be a bridge to and from Visa's broader corporate communications, corporate affairs, media relations and content teams in region. Critical to success will be strong organizational skills and a proven ability to develop relationships, both internally and externally with clients and industry partners. We are looking for a thoughtful, well-rounded team player who loves to learn, can see around corners, and who can distill complex information into compelling and timely narratives for both internal and external stakeholders. The right candidate loves to write, can start from a blank page and quickly bring persuasive arguments and proactive stories to life for any channel and any audience. Finally, this team member understands the rapidly evolving communications profession - from AI driven tools and resources to the evolving media landscape (traditional and social) - and can leverage that knowledge for the benefit of the broader Visa team. This position will be based in the Washington D.C. and will report to the Senior Director, North America Communications and Public Affairs. The ideal candidate will have a blend of corporate communications, public affairs and issues management experience. Responsibilities:
This position will be based in the Washington D.C. office and will report to the Senior Director, North America Communications and Public Affairs. This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager. QualificationsBasic Qualifications: Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department. Travel Requirements: This position requires travel5-10% of the time. Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers. Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
