What you will do
- Exemplify and promote a culture of Safety at all times. Ensure all aspects of Safety (training, awareness, PPE's, urgency, communication, etc.) are given the highest priority
- Adhere to all quality standards within the department.
- Execute Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) methodology for production equipment to ensure best-in-class uptime
- Develop and manage operational budgets and planning
- Execute preventive and predictive maintenance procedures based on scientific evaluation of equipment and components to maintain their operation at standard quality levels
- Maintain appropriate staffing levels and supervision for maintaining production equipment and responding to production issues for all production shifts
- Maintain appropriate inventories of critical spare parts for key process equipment so that downtime is minimized for planned or unplanned maintenance
- Seek ways to continuously improve operations and identify and implement measures to increase throughput, reduce operating costs and improve operations
- Responsible for the maintenance and improvement of production equipment and maintenance processes within the site. This will include establishment of work instructions, preventative maintenance schedules.
- Prioritize project initiatives using quality metrics, and track changes to metrics that may result from specific improvements
- Maintain machines to produce consistent parts of the highest quality
- Troubleshoot and repair machines
- Make improvements in reliability and functionality of machines
- Continually seek to improve work processes and individual performance
- Adhere to all company policies and operational procedures
- Be the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for resolving technical issues using accepted problem solving tools (e.g., root cause analysis, 5 why's, etc.)
- Act as a technical liaison between multiple departments.
- Assist in implementing solutions on the production floor.
- Continually seek to improve work processes & individual performance.
- Adhere to all company policies & operational procedures.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
What it takes
- Must have extensive experience reading blueprints, drawings and systems specifications
- Working and coaching knowledge of OSHA regulations, prior experience working with regulatory agencies on safety compliance.
- Creative problem solving, and analytical skills
- Customer service, planning and influence skills required.
- Adapts to change and different ways of doing things quickly and positively; deals effectively with a variety of people and situations; appropriately adapts one's thinking or approach as the situation changes; thrives in a fluid environment and works effectively in ambiguous situations.
- Utilizes project management protocols and techniques to plan and effectively execute projects; identifies critical activities to accomplish and formulate action plans, milestones, and resource requirements; monitors project performance and makes necessary adjustments to ensure things stay on track.

Occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
