Bloomberg Government seeks a scoops-focused reporter to cover congressional transportation policy during a tumultuous time for the air travel, freight, and vehicle manufacturing industries.
The journalist will focus on who is shaping key transportation and infrastructure policy on Capitol Hill and why-from probes into recent air crashes to the fallout from auto tariffs to the initial negotiations on the 2026 surface transportation reauthorization legislation and beyond. Our team's journalists excel at distilling often-complex areas of federal policy into easily digestible stories that give subscribers actionable information and analysis. The candidate will commit to deeply understanding how the reshaping of the federal government by the current Congress and administration will affect broad industries and everyday Americans. The successful candidate will be a consummate team player and have the skills to turn their hand deftly from quick hits and scoops to longer-form enterprise stories and impactful explainers that lead the Washington conversation in this policy area.
