Department:PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT Organizational Unit:Code Enforcement investigation (50000062) Position Type:Permanent Full Time/Part Time:Full Time CLOSE DATE: 05/13/2025 $19.29 to $21.22 hourly. Actual salary negotiable based on experience and qualifications. Government Center/Viera. Work schedule is Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.Performs entry-level office and clerical work supporting the activities of the Code Enforcement Office, receiving complaints from the public, answering questions relating to ordinances, and assisting in the preparation of code violation cases for Special Magistrate hearings. REQUIREMENTS:Three (3) years of office experience, which includes one (1) year of experience explaining and interpreting rules, codes, and ordinances. Additional qualifying education and/or experience may be substituted on a year for year basis.SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Must possess, or obtain within six (6) months of employment, an active Florida Notary Public certification and maintain said certification during the term of employment. Must successfully complete, within nine (9) months of employment, all of the Brevard County Mandatory Training for the Development of New Employees classes. In the event of a hurricane, major storm, natural or man-made disaster that may threaten the area, the employee will be required to perform emergency duties as directed.
