Drug Discovery & Translational Sciences Intern

The Drug Discovery & Translational Sciences Division of Inotiv Corp (DTS) is seeking an intern for the Summer 2025 term. Based in Nashville, TN, the intern will join our team of Biochemical Pharmacologists and Scientists embarking on an exciting project involving the ex vivo global and targeted proteomic characterization of fibrotic tissue from mammalian species. The intern will primarily utilize a combination of biochemistry, high resolution mass spectrometry and bioinformatics. In this position, you will be a team member working on a strategic partnership outlined and managed by Inotiv DTS and aimed at understanding the underlying mechanisms leading to Liver Fibrosis. You will work directly with scientists in the Nashville laboratory but will also connect with other scientists from various teams across the Inotiv organization. The successful candidate is enrolled in an undergraduate institution seeking a degree (B.Sc.) in Biomedical Engineering, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, Chemical Biology or Bioanalytical Sciences.

Deliverables from the internship will be as follows:

• Develop proficiency in sample processing of ex vivo organs and tissue, contemporary cell culture, novel alternative methods (NAMs) and human FFPE specimens from diseased and fibrotic tissue.
• Learn proper use and maintenance of contemporary mass spectrometry instrumentation (e.g., LC-MS/MS, High Resolution MS)
• Develop and implement sample acquisition methods on appropriate mass spectrometer instrumentation with subsequent downstream data analysis of targeted or global mass spectrometry data
• Proactively share findings and knowledge to support continued partnership with Inotiv's strategic partner
• Summary report of project outcomes at completion of internship

*This position could be offered at different levels for candidates who qualify with a combination of advanced levels of education and/or years of experience. The salary range will adjust along with the level of the role to match the person's relevant experience and/or education level.
