Compensation At S&C, we are dedicated to providing competitive and equitable compensation for all our team members, and we are committed to transparency in our pay practices. The estimated annual base salary range for this position is $85,580 - $113,451.80. Individual pay within this salary range is determined by several compensable factors, including performance, knowledge, job-related skills and experience, and relevant education or training. This role is also eligible for S&C's annual incentive plan (AIP), subject to eligibility criteria. Join Our Team as a Senior External Supply Planner! Are you passionate about production planning? S&C Electric Company is seeking a dynamic individual to coordinate our supply and logistics function. As a Senior External Supply Planner you'll be crucial in ensuring smooth operations and supporting our diverse team. The Senior External Supply Planner is responsible for balancing capacity and managing the supply of parts from external suppliers. This role involves developing and maintaining supply plans, optimizing inventory levels, and ensuring alignment with demand forecasts to meet business objectives. The External Supply Planner partners with sourcing leadership to define supplier performance requirements and improve reliability and lead times. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain supply plans for parts from external suppliers, balancing production capacity, inventory levels, and customer demand. Track and analyze supplier performance to ensure quality and timely delivery.
- Optimize supply strategies to minimize costs, maximize service levels, and reduce waste. Implement changes to improve inventory handling and storage
- Utilize advanced planning systems to identify supply risks and recommend strategies for mitigation. Develop contingency plans to address potential disruptions in the supply chain
- Partner with sourcing leadership to define supplier performance requirements, create improvement targets and plans, and improve reliability and lead times. Maintain strong and effective relationships with suppliers.
- Generate and issue reports, both ad hoc and regular schedules, such as weekly or monthly forecasts. Provide recommendations to leadership and to Procurement based on data presented in reports.
- Work with auditors to review the function's practices, providing documentation and demonstrating specific processes when requested.
- Collaborate closely with product development and engineering teams to integrate new products and components into existing production processes seamlessly.
- Mentor and coach junior planners, providing guidance and support in navigating complex external supply issues and honing their skills.
- Support projects, such as A3 problem-solving efforts, as assigned by department leadership.
- Understand and comply with all applicable Company policies and rules.
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
- Attend in-person or virtual meetings as requested or required.
- Communicate effectively and respectfully with others.

What you'll Need To Succeed:
- Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Management, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years in a supply planning or related role.
- APICS Certified in Planning and Inventory Management (CPIM)
- Sound understanding of Oracle Planning Capabilities, and industrial supply chain management principles. Proficient in using Oracle ERP for production planning functions.
- Great understanding of external supply functions within a manufacturing or similar environment.
- Sound business acumen and analytical skills with the ability to use and analyze data to drive informed decisions, problem-solve complex issues and leverage data and learnings to drive continuous improvement.
- Rounded communication skills, (written, verbal, listening and presentation) able to liaise with internal and external stakeholders at all levels from management to support staff. Creative and persuasive in communicating how interventions can improve current practices.
- Sound interpersonal skills to establish meaningful relationships built on mutual trust and respect and foster collaborative working relationships amongst a diverse audience.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines, including the flexibility to work extended hours when necessary.
- Good organizational, planning, and project management skills, coordinating internal and external resources and juggling key demands.
- Great computer skills and ability to use Microsoft Office applications, specifically Microsoft Word, Excel (Advanced), PowerPoint, and PowerBI. Experience with developing or using digital tools.
Preferred:
- Experience working with Oracle ERP software.
