Pay is depending on experience. Minimum is $109,881.46 annually, $4,226.21 bi-weekly

Position Summary

The Private Banking Manager is responsible for developing and executing the overall strategy and direction of the Private Banking program. This role focuses on driving market share growth by prospecting, acquiring and managing relationships of high-net-worth individuals. The Private Banking Manager oversees a team dedicated to delivering exceptional customer service, fostering strong relationships through the strategic sale and administrations of products and services. This position will lead initiatives to enhance customer experience, ensure service excellence, and optimize market share growth.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Develop and implement a strategic plan for private banking, with a focus on expanding deposit growth from high-net worth individuals.
  2. Oversee the development of customized products/services tailored to the needs of high-net worth customers
  3. Monitor industry trends, competitor offerings, and market conditions to enhance the bank's private banking strategy.
  4. Develop and cultivate private banking relationships with high net worth customers by thoroughly understanding their needs, developing solutions, and delivering tailored banking/lending solutions.
  5. Lead outreach efforts to attract high-net worth customers, including networking, event participation and community engagement.
  6. Ensure all customer inquiries and problems are handled effectively and resolved.
  7. Collaborate with internal teams, including commercial/consumer lending and investment services to provide holistic financial solutions.
  8. Regularly reassess customer needs to ensure growth of relationship and delivery of exceptional service.
  9. Maintain knowledge of loan policy and procedures, and perform process of underwriting, structuring, pricing, and negotiation of credit requests or coordinate commercial, consumer, and other loan requests through established processes as appropriate.
  10. Ensure all customer transactions comply with regulations, internal policies, and risk management procedures.
  11. Complete online, written and in-person compliance training within established timeframes.
  12. Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the company policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include scheduling hours, interviewing and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; conduct performance evaluation; working with HR to address work related issues.
  • Ensure employees complete compliance training within established timeframes; understand and implement compliance requirements applicable to their positions.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or other related field.
  • Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree preferred.

Experience

  • Eight years of private banking, wealth management, or related financial services experience.
  • Equivalent combination of education and/or experience that fulfill the requirements of the position may be considered.
  • Related military education/experience may be used as a substitute for education or work experience.

Licenses & Certifications

  • FINRA Series 65 preferred
  • State of Alaska Life Insurance preferred
  • Registration and annual certification with the National Mortgage Loan Licensing Registry

Knowledge & Communication Skills

  • Working knowledge of consumer, commercial and mortgage lending, personal lines of credit, investment and trust services.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries or complaints.
  • Ability to handle highly confidential information.
  • Maintains a positive attitude and willingness to adapt in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Must understand and have the ability to implement applicable compliance requirements.

Analytical & Decision Making Skills

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions and make decisions based on those conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret financial, statistical, legal, regulatory, or other data from a variety of sources and to compile in a meaningful manner.
  • Self-directed, able to work independently without supervision, and be able to prioritize multiple projects to meet firm deadlines.

Computer/Software/Other Equipment Skills

  • Able to comprehend and respond to new software and program upgrades.
  • Proficient knowledge of MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Ability to operate standard office equipment such as PC, printer, fax/copier, and telephone.

Working Conditions

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • Work is performed in a professional office environment.
