Job Description

Position Overview:

Responsible for the overall front-line support of Warehouse personnel. This individual requires a complete and overall knowledge of Injection and Blow Mold processes as it relates to the movement and storage of product and the ability to instill good manufacturing practices and guidelines through leadership by example.

NIGHT SHIFT 2 PM - 10:30 PM

Essential Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Directly responsible for the proper support of Warehouse employees.
  • Keeps the Supply Chain Operations Manager and Shift Supervisors informed of individual employee accomplishments and developmental needs.
  • Directly responsible for providing direction and supervision to the Warehouse employees in the absence of the Supply Chain Operations Manager.
  • Assists with support of the Supply Chain Operations Manager in the handling and resolution of employee complaints, questions and suggestions.
  • Responsible for on-the-job training of Warehouse employees including Forklift certifications with the exception of CDL Truck Drivers.
  • Relieve for breaks as necessary.
  • Maintains all required documentation for the Supply ChainOperations Manager.
  • Informs the Supply Chain Operations Manager of late loads, damaged product, mis-ticketed product and other matters of urgency in the Warehouse.
  • Changes status of product, carriers or schedule carriers as needed.
  • Follows all established safety rules and guidelines as outlined in the Amcor "No Injuries Safety Contract" and as trained. Understands and communicates all hazards and safety issues to co-workers and Supervisors. Properly uses all required personal protective equipment.
  • Possess ability to communicate effectively.
  • Utilizing FIFO inventory principles, accurately load for shipment to the customer per shipping guidelines and customer expectations.
  • Obtain sign-off from QC for all raw materials prior to storage. Store materials as required in cooperation with material handlers. Perform dock audits as required. Maintain quality log for items rejected at the dock, including mixed and damaged product.
  • Responsible for leading the warehouse function, establishing work instructions for efficient warehouse operations in the areas of inventory, space management, shipping/receiving to meet customer orders, as well as the professional development and monitoring of the warehouse team, including material handlers, at the facility.
  • Must be flexible and able to work any shift.
  • Knowledge of dock door/levelers/locks and dock operations.
  • Must be able to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Must be able and willing to work in a fast-paced environment that can change instantly.
  • Provides input, solutions and options on improving productivity/efficiencies and product quality relating to shipping and receiving activities.
  • Must be able to obtain and keep forklift certification and forklift training capabilities. Operates forklift to move production around the warehouse and for loading/unloading shipments on and off truck as needed.
  • Maintain and correctly utilize the dock scheduling system.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED. Some post-secondary education preferred (i.e., Technical or Vocational education)
  • 3 years of experience in Warehouse and/or Manufacturing.
  • OSHA Powered Industrial Truck certification provided by Amcor Rigid Plastics.
  • Possess the ability to recognize and understand numbers and values related to job functions
  • Possess the ability to visually and mentally make priority decisions based on the situation at hand and escalate to the Supply Chain Operations Manager when problems cannot be resolved.
  • Possess the ability to efficiently and effectively use a computer and related software related to record keeping and machine troubleshooting/maintenance such as SAP,l Mii, and Microsoft Office.
  • Written and oral communication skills.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Ability to visually and mentally make priority decisions and independent judgment calls based on the situation at hand.
  • Ability to efficiently and effectively use a computer and related software.
  • Ability to work all shifts and required overtime.
