Summary

The Equipment and Reliability Engineer is responsible for improving asset and process efficiencies to deliver step change results in OEE and cost through engineering support and data-driven decision making. Utilizing their engineering skills, they will work in a collaborative environment with Operations and Maintenance to solve complex problems, redesign equipment and support new equipment installations. The successful candidate will also possess leadership skills that will enable them to lead projects, initiatives and influence the organization.

Responsibilities
  • Solve complex problems in a way that sustainably delivers step change improvements in OEE and/or Cost.
  • Be able to redesign equipment not currently capable of achieving OEE/Cost goals due to reliability and/or speed capabilities.
  • Lead root cause analysis, failure tracking, and corrective action implementation to improve equipment reliability.
  • Work with and lead 3rd party engineering teams to support the first two bullet points when needed.
  • Prepare conceptual engineering designs and floor plans for filler/packaging equipment
  • Use Six Sigma and data driven tools (FMEA, MTTR, MTBF and others) to solve complex problems.
  • Serve as engineering subject matter expert on local project teams
  • Lead root cause analysis, failure tracking, and corrective action implementation to improve equipment reliability.
  • Research engineering topics, prepare studies and conduct trials with production
  • Assist with transitioning capital projects to the production plant team
  • Develop & Maintain documentation in support of filler/packaging changes (Process Description, Scope, Process Drawings, etc)
  • Solicit and critique proposed filler/packaging changes, submittals and designs
  • Use team management skills to lead problem solves, business initiatives and capital projects
  • Assess vendors for competence, capabilities, resources, and financial status. Review and negotiate bid documents
  • Accountable for project development and execution to include budget, schedule, and performance
  • Follow Chobani's safety procedures and Good Manufacturing Practices
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, or related field)
  • 7-10 years of experience (including experience at the plant level)
  • Six Sigma Green Belt certified or the ability to achieve certification within 6 months of start date
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both in oral and written form
  • Experience creating and drafting technical documents and reports
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
  • Proficient personal computer skills including electronic mail, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, computer aided design (CAD).

Compensation Range:$107,000.00-$161,000.00, plus bonus.
