Your Role With Us: Unit and Location: 4thfloor, Building A EastSize of unit, number of beds and number of treatment areas: 30 telemetry capable private rooms including both medical and intermediate levels of care. Fifteen rooms have ICU capability. As a level 2 trauma designated hospital, the Trauma Care Unit at Salem Hospital primary focus is trauma and vascular care. The team provides care for patients who have experienced traumatic injuries from motor vehicle accidents and chest trauma related to both accidents and violent crimes. The team also serves patients who suffer from a wide variety of medical conditions including but not limited to cardiac, respiratory and metabolic disorders. The high majority of patients on TCU are admitted from the ED or transferred from the ICU. Team members on the TCU pride themselves with a wide range of skills and strong teamwork. The unit has the capability of caring for all levels of care, including intensive care if the need arises. Experienced RNs are crossed trained in the care of these more complex patients. Bachelor of Arts in nursing also accepted.
