SUMMARY Provides day-to-day and long-term leadership to the technical program management work groups. Responsible for the successful outcome of group quality, contractual, proposals mgmt. & execution, program execution, risk management, cost, schedule, technology, capabilities, customer satisfaction, employee engagement, utilization and capacity. For this role, you must be able to obtain a Secret Security Clearance. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assists with the selection of proposal and project teams with input from the functional leaders.
- Establishes priority of new projects with input from the Director of Design Engineering and Business Unit account management
- Provides input on feasibility, resource requirements, cost, schedule and contract issues to proposal teams
- Monitors and reports summary of group resource loading/planning, potential project forecast, project financial analysis and active project status including generation of and updates to financial performance to established commit and AOP goals.
- Provide input to the Director of Design Engineering regarding coworker issues on regular basis
- Provides input to the department capital budget
- Directs the technical program management organization; Develops systems and processes to enable solutions to meet customer quality, cost, technology and schedule expectations
- Works directly with LT to ensure all organizations are providing appropriate inputs to CFTs and management for successful execution of program and company goals
- Responsible for establishing and verifying operations goals including target build quantities for all products in production
- Interfaces directly with the Controller to update financial position as related to risks, opportunities and performance to the quarterly commit and AOP
- Generates financial basis for MRP submissions and works with financial team and GM to finalize reports for executive management.
- Leads Technical Program Management department planning based on corporate objectives
- Recommends budgets to management, including staff use, technology, facility & equipment requirements and improvements.
- Supports the publishing and presentation of Technical Papers
- Responsible for department staff growth, including guidance for career path planning and technical mentoring
- Responsible for performance management and hiring of all employees within the department.
- Ensures released Benchmark process instructions are followed during product development and interaction with other Benchmark work groups
- Identifies and drives new engineering technology initiatives.
- Develops justifications and purchase proposals for new equipment in support of work group growth in technology and coworker abilities
- Assists and reviews project proposals and associated cost estimates in response to Customer requests for quote
- Works with Benchmark manufacturing support groups (Manufacturing and Sustaining Test) to understand the requirements of the production environment; Determine work group process improvement for enhancing alignment with production environment
- Provides support and leadership to project teams to resolve quality, cost, schedule and technical issues on active projects with the customer
- Identifies and tracks risks and opportunities both on a technical and financial level reporting to the General Manager on performance
- Drives conformance of released Benchmark Process Instructions
- Attends Benchmark leadership training classes
