40% Fixed-Term Instructor - Orthodontics

The University of Iowa's College of Dentistry is conducting a search for a 40% part-time fixed-term Instructor (2 days/week) in the Department of Orthodontics.

Major responsibilities:

• participate and provide didactic teaching in the undergraduate and graduate orthodontic programs;
• oversee the treatment of patients in the orthodontics graduate clinic, including craniofacial anomalies and /or special needs patients;
• teach undergraduate and graduate level courses;
• treatment of private patients in the faculty practice.

Required Qualifications:

• DDS/DMD or equivalent; and
• by time of appointment, MS degree from an advanced education program in Orthodontics.

Desirable qualifications:

• Board Certification/Eligibility in Orthodontics;
• record of effective teaching or mentoring; and
• record of Orthodontic clinical practice, with experience in the use of modern orthodontic approaches including aligner systems and temporary anchorage devices.

Anticipated duration 1 year.
