JOB SUMMARY
The Graduate Medical Education Department is looking to hire a full time Information Specialist. Under general direction, manages and maintains Graduate Medical Education (GME) systems and trains end users in their use. The preferred candidate will have previous experience with MedHUB, Experience with SQL, Microsoft Suite, Power BI, Ability to build Dashboards, and Data Management experience (including cleaning and scrubbing data).

    Knowledge and proficiency with MedHub Residency Management System and/or other systems (e.g., E-Value or New Innovations)


JOB DUTIES



  • Develop and maintain knowledge of the rules, regulations, policies, administrative guidelines, and legal issues that impact or govern the GME programs.
  • Manages GME information systems and platforms to include, but not limited to, resident related databases (local & web based) programs, standardizing data collection of GME programming, developing reporting tools, generating IRIS data for Medicare Cost Reporting of affiliated teaching hospitals, implementing standardized compliance processes for all GME programming, and tracks institutional compliance and maintains data integrity.
  • Analyzes and remediates problems involving GME technology systems. Provides support for the institutional GME helpdesk and works closely with system vendors to provide end-users with high-quality, prompt customer service for GME technology systems.
  • Develops tools and resources to administer training support through phone calls, web-based demonstrations, documentation, tutorials, or on-site presentations for GME program coordinators and directors.
  • Designs and creates tools to capture data, run/build reports and conducts analysis for purpose of measuring productivity and identifying and interpreting trends/patterns that represent opportunities to improve and increase operational efficiency. Partners with GME leadership for review and data interpretation and then participate in plan development and implementation.
  • Advocates on behalf of GME stakeholders regarding development of internal processes and future development of GME related systems and platforms.
  • Manages implementation, utilization, maintenance, troubleshooting, and upgrades of RMS (MedHub) and GME systems for GME enterprise in accordance with GME, University, and accrediting acgencies policies and requirements.
  • Monitors use and drives maximum utilization of GME platforms and RMS in a manner that leads to optimal integrity and standardization of GME data at the institutional and program levels.
  • Manages and oversees the production of content for GME websites, social media campaigns, interactive applications, and other online interfaces. Perform content reviews and audits with a focus on streamlining editorial content of GME websites and other digital communication channels.
  • Serves in a key editorial role for online content development, collaborating with internal and external collaborators to ensure all web content is housed in the appropriate content management system.
  • Stays abreast of industry best practices and emerging technologies to ensure high-quality user experiences across all digital communication channels.
  • Researches, designs and pilots emerging technologies to support GME innovations, and provide technology-based solutions for institutional and program level system problems.
  • Collaborates with other GME staff and staff from Dean's Office to ensure complete and accurate data/reports that may be required by institutional, state or accdrediting entities (e.g., ACGME, LCME, LBB, CBMOOR, etc.).
  • Serve as department's information resources (IR) contact per UTSW policy (ISR-253); attends monthly IR team meetings to stay abreast with technological developments on campus; communicate information and implement applicable actions from monthly meetings.
  • Serve as Assest Administrator for department in PeopleSoft system; keep the Information Security Office informed of new devices, systems, or applications; ensure promper anti-virus and security patches are utilized and report information security incidents.
  • Function appropriately, proactively, and effectively with other GME staff to fulfill GME and Institutional missions and goals.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
