Job Summary

The Sales Support & Insights Analyst will provide daily support to the sales staff with data entry on several different platforms and assist gathering and collecting research. This position utilizes research and presentation tools to inform and advance the work of the fundraising and editorial teams based on audience data, revenue tools, local, and national trends. Responsible for analysis of raw data for radio, TV, and digital consumption of WGCU content to provide insights that position WGCU for a competitive advantage. Reports to the Associate General Manager of Business Partnerships and Corporate Investments.

Job Description

Typical duties may include but are not limited to:

  • Enters data into several platforms and assists with the creation of proposals for sales. Responsible for monthly reporting on radio and TV ratings and digital analytics, including but not limited to local ratings and rankings, quantitative and qualitative demographic trends, website, social media, and streaming analytics.
  • Collects, summarizes, and/or analyzes data in preparation for generation of analytical reports and presentations to support data drive decision making.
  • Develops, documents, and maintains processes and procedures for data quality and integrity.
  • Collaborates with the membership and development team for fundraising analysis.
  • Collaborates with other departments to create and reinforce data standards, definitions, coding, and reporting practices. Coordinates with the traffic department for business analytics and scheduling of station promotional plans across fundraising and programming departments.
  • Works with the sponsorship team when needed for CRM maintenance, order entry, invoices, reconciliation, market data, and revenue projects.
  • Consults with the digital department on segmentation and implementation of digital inventory across station initiatives, and scheduling campaigns.
  • Analyzes programming, dayparts, and channels to track engagement levels of current programs, initiatives, or proposed changes. Reports on audience delivery and spot placements for clients.
  • Works under guidelines for statistical reporting, analysis, and predictions governed by unit procedures, processes, and manuals.
  • Supports finance, traffic, and sales department to resolve client billing, order, spot, and other discrepancies.

Additional Job Description

Required Qualifications:

  • This position requires either six years of directly related full-time experience or, as an alternative, a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of full-time experience directly related to the job functions.
  • Professional full-time experience in a media environment (TV, radio, and digital), audience analytics, sales support, or related field.
  • Experience operating a personal computer and proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook).
  • Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience, and/or certifications may be considered.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 4 years knowledge of Wide Orbit, Sales Force, Media Audit, Scarborough Research and Nielson ratings.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of marketing, advertising, and programming tools.
  • Knowledge of Nielsen, Google Analytics, Triton, Media Audit, Scarborough, Media Monitors. Knowledge of traffic software for radio, TV, and digital. Proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and an ability to prioritize and complete simultaneous projects within deadlines.
  • Ability to interact in a professional manner with staff, faculty, students and the community in a service-oriented environment.
  • Ability to take initiative to plan, organize, coordinate and perform work in various situations when numerous and competing demands are involved.
  • Ability to compile, organize, interpret, and communicate data and results in a concise format.
  • Ability to think critically and make clear, well-reasoned and timely decisions.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion at all times.
  • Ability to exercise a high degree of independent judgement in the establishment, interpretation, application, and enforcement of all rules, regulations, and policies.
