Job Description:

PRIMARY PURPOSE/GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The function of the head residential coordinator is to create a safe environment in the residence hall for program participants in collaboration with other staff and the administration. This individual must be a team player who can communicate effectively and exercise a high level of maturity and integrity.

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

This information is intended to be a descriptive of the key responsibilities of the position.The list of essential functions below does not identify all duties performed by any single incumbent in this position.Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Lives in residence hall with student participants for program's duration.
  • Assists with Group Projects during Week 2.
  • Supervises student participants within the residence hall, including the maintenance of curfew hours and lights-out policy.
  • Assists in disciplinary actions that arise inside or outside the residential hall and enforce program rules and regulations. Documents in writing any incidents occurring within the residence hall.
  • Collaborates closely with faculty to plan the academic program.
  • Assists with office responsibilities as needed.
  • Attends all corresponding training and staff meetings.
  • Support students and operations as needed.
  • Perform all other related duties as assigned.
  • Active support for the College's Principles of Community and Principles of Diversity in the performance of job duties.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:

Individuals must possess knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the essential functions of the position, or be able to explain or demonstrate how the essential functions will be performed, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.

  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Must be customer service oriented with excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to manage tasks and deadlines.

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or any combination of education, training or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and ability to perform the job.

Junior/Senior undergraduate standing is preferred.

Experience working first generation students from underserved communities is preferred.

LICENSES / CERTIFICATES:

None.

OTHER:

HOURS & CLASSIFICATION AND STATUS:

This is a temporary status, full-time, non-benefits eligible, non-exempt position.

Hours will vary based upon the needs of the department, but will usually be scheduled for alternating shifts of 2:00 pm-11:00pm & 7:00 am-4:00 pm.

This assignment is anticipated to begin on or around May 8, 2025 and is expected to end on or before June 28, 2025.

Hourly rate: $16.75. The hourly rate of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty, andtraining.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

Supervises resident coordinators.
