HJF is seeking a Research Project Manager II to drive successful completion of key deliverables and stated objectives for a single project or multiple non-integrated projects by coordinating and monitoring the status of work performed by technical staff. Typically works on moderate to high complexity projects and reports to a Program Manager.

This position will be in support of National Intrepid Center of Excellence (NICoE), supporting the Neurofeedback and Cognitive Rehabilitation Programs located in Bethesda, MD on the campus of the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. NICoE is a DoD institute dedicated to providing cutting-edge evaluation, treatment, and research for service members dealing with complex interactions of mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI) and psychological health (PH) conditions.

The Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine (HJF) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing military medicine. We serve military, medical, academic and government clients by administering, managing and supporting preeminent scientific programs that benefit members of the armed forces and civilians alike. Since its founding in 1983, HJF has served as a vital link between the military medical community and its federal and private partners. HJF's support and administrative capabilities allow military medical researchers and clinicians to maintain their scientific focus and accomplish their research goals.


Responsibilities

  • Tracking and execution of projects related to clinical research, research initiative, clinical trials, community-based efforts.
  • Steering committee meetings organization and manage action items for projects to inform funding decisions.
  • Review of work - periodic conferences held among parties to review progress; quarterly and annual reports updating cost and performance status of each project.
  • Provides project oversight to include resource allocation, meeting facilitation, tracking tasks/deliverables in support of the Steering Committee.
  • Coordinates efforts of all agencies involved in the project process.
  • Initiate and monitor execution of associated agreements to assist with project execution.
  • Hiring and managing staff and other resources.
  • Provide oversight of project budget to include forecasting and approving expenditures.
  • Purchase equipment and other supplies.
  • Ensures compliance with appropriate rules and regulations as well as reviews project progress and recommends revisions, amendments, and/or other project changes as necessary to better meet sponsor needs.
  • May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor. This may include attendance of and participation in required training for role.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Assigned Lead: Performs the following: employee hiring, disciplinary action, and starting salaries; conduct employee performance evaluations.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years experience required.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Significant background in Neuroscience and/ or TBI research.
  • Knowledge of federal and local regulations and policies pertinent to research involving human subjects.
  • Familiarity with clinical research methods.
  • Must understand data management and verification.
  • Ability to write clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to communicate clearly, work well with others, identify and resolve problems, and deliver results as a team.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, schedule, and coordinate activities to meet deadlines.
  • Working knowledge of a variety of software including but not limited to Microsoft Office, proposal/project tracking, and data analysis software.
  • US Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a T3/Secret Clearance.

Work Environment

  • This position will take place primarily in an office setting.

Compensation

  • The annual salary range for this position is $64,200-$85,000. Actual salary will be determined based on experience, education, etc.
