About the Opportunity

DMI is seeking a skilled and experienced Network Operations Manager to support a Federal agency in the DC Metro area. This role involves overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of network systems to support data, voice, and audio communications. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in network management, including leadership of technical teams and expertise in both classified and unclassified IT environments.

Duties and Responsibilities:

    Supervise the design, analysis, planning, modification, and maintenance of networks and network components supporting data, voice, and/or audio communication activities.
  • Direct and manage the analysis of short/long-term capacity needs for switching, routing, transmission, and signaling.
  • Conduct network architecture design, feasibility, and cost studies as well as internal studies of network performance and traffic analysis.
  • Evaluate new technologies and constantly look for ways to improve the customers' network experience
  • Duties include providing specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture; providing information for hardware and software selection; and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements.
  • Supervise testing of network systems.
  • Maintain technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, switchers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc.
  • Directly supervises individual contributors (skilled technicians, administrative support) and/or entry-level professionals (entry-level engineers).
  • Administer and execute policies, processes, and procedures that affect subordinate employees and the workflow of the work unit. Leads daily operations of the work unit.
  • Meet with and coordinate network activities with the customer POCs.


Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's Degree required; a degree in STEM or Business preferred.

Years of Experience: Minimum of 10 years in Network Management.

Required Skill/ Certifications: ITIL v3 Practitioner certification required; ability to obtain ITIL 4 Managing Professional within the first six months.

CCNP (or equivalent, such as CCDP) is required.

Technical Knowledge: Proven experience with Zero Trust Networks and a deep understanding of Zero Trust Security Principles.

Leadership Experience: At least 5 years of experience managing network engineers of varying levels.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience in Enterprise IT Managed Services preferred, supporting geographically dispersed sites and large end user bases
  • Experience supporting both classified and unclassified IT environments

Additional Requirements: Successful completion of a Public Trust background investigation and/or a Public Trust clearance.

Min Citizenship Status Required: Must be a U.S. Citizen

Physical Requirements: No Physical requirements needed for this position.

Location: Arlington, VA / DC Area

  • Hybrid: 3 days onsite; 2 days remote
