We are seeking a highly qualified and motivated candidate to join the Distribution Intelligence team within New York Life Investments' Business Intelligence & Data Analytics Group. This role plays a pivotal part in strengthening collaboration across our sales organization, enhancing data-driven decision-making, and identifying new opportunities to optimize sales performance.

As a key member of the Distribution Intelligence team within our larger Business Intelligence & Data Analytics Group, you will lead efforts to refine existing analyses, develop innovative new insights, and implement data-driven strategies that empower our sales teams to drive business growth. This position offers a dynamic opportunity to expand a data professional's expertise within the investment management industry, working in a results-oriented environment while cultivating meaningful relationships across the sales organization.

What You'll Do:

As a member of our Distribution Intelligence team, your primary focus will be to lead our partnership with the internal and external sales teams by leveraging data-driven insights to enhance sales effectiveness. Your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead Data Strategy & Engineering - Oversee the development and continuous improvement of dashboards and datasets utilized across the sales organization. This includes owning and managing critical client datasets, ensuring data integrity, and optimizing data engineering processes to support business objectives.
  • Drive the Advisor Focus Process - Lead the ongoing development and implementation of a multi-factor advisor scoring model. This model will be used to help our sales team build and update their Advisor Consultant Focus List, a key component of our sales strategy, support tactical sales initiatives and growth opportunities.
  • Sales Team Onboarding & Training - Own and manage the onboarding process for new sales professionals, ensuring that both internal and external sales team hires (Advisor Consultants) are well-equipped with the data tools and insights necessary for success.
  • Dashboard Development & Optimization - Maintain and enhance dashboards utilized by the Sales Team, aligning them with strategic and tactical sales initiatives. This includes refining existing datasets, creating new datasets and delivering actionable insights through intuitive and impactful dashboard visualizations.

This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by empowering our sales teams with the data and tools they need to drive business growth.

What You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Business Administration, Finance, Marketing, Information Systems or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in a data-focused role within the asset management industry, with deep expertise in Intermediary Distribution, particularly within the U.S. retail market.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Excel, and Salesforce, with the ability to extract, analyze, and present data effectively.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders across various teams and levels of the organization.
  • Self-starter with a strong sense of urgency, accountability, and personal responsibility.
  • Results-driven and process-oriented, with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and execute deliverables within tight deadlines.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience working in AWS (Redshift and S3)
  • Python skills helpful but not required
  • Experience working with institutional data sets including eVestment and Preqin a plus

Pay Transparency

Salary Range:$120,000 - $150,000

Overtime eligible:Exempt

Discretionary bonus eligible:Yes

Sales bonus eligible:No

Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual's experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
