Inova Float Pool Team | Patient Registration Float Team Member | Full time | West Zone | M-F, every other weekend | Morning/ Midday, 7am-3:30pm & 10am-6:30pm

The Patient Registration Float Pool Team is responsible for providing excellent customer service throughout Inova Health System by identifying and fulfilling customer and departmental needs. Provides world-class service to patients by filling vacancies within clinical departments. Travels to various hospitals and outpatient practices within the Alexandria, Loudoun, Mount Vernon, Fair Oaks and Fairfax areas as required.

Job Responsibilities


  • Supports scheduling undertakings by conducting pre-service activities such as insurance verification and submission.
  • Troubleshoots individual admission issues in collaboration with other departments and/or team members.
  • Explains insurance benefits and patient liability by using appropriate communication methods/styles.
  • Identifies and communicates payroll authorization and referral requirements.
  • Manages assigned work queues to ensure that errors are corrected.
  • May perform additional duties as assigned.

Additional Requirements

Experience - 2 years of healthcare patient access experience or customer service experience.

Education - High School diploma or equivalent
