SUMMARY
The Maintenance Supervisor position requires an individual who has demonstrated success in a fast-paced heavy manufacturing environment. This is a 'hands-on' position and requires technical expertise in Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC's), electrical, pneumatics, mechanical drives, and hydraulics. The focus is to ensure all equipment is running efficiently to produce high quality
products and meet customer requirements and satisfaction and to look towards continuous improvement.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervises, trains and evaluates a group of multi-trade maintenance employees.
- Provides technical direction to Maintenance Team to ensure that equipment and machines are maintained properly and working correctly.
- Motivates and leads team to achieve goals.
- Ensures that all company policies and safety procedures are understood and followed.
- Analyzes equipment or machinery data (failures) and preventative maintenance program and takes corrective action.
- Provides technical training to management and multi-trade team members.
- Reviews electrical/maintenance schematics to As-Built Equipment, verifying safety systems, must be able to troubleshoot aged machinery that may not have all electrical schematics.
- Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service
- Must be able to improve maintenance processes and methods for cost-reduction, quality improvement and efficiency.
- Must prepare and present plans for the above and coordinate deployment including training of multi-trade team members.
- Must be able to assist Maintenance Manager in improving the Maintenance Inventory System, including cost controls.
- Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with staff, management and other departments to ensure smooth shift handovers to ensure that a fluid operation continues for the next shift. Must have the mentality of setting your team up for Success type of attitude.
- Must be able to conduct employee training, as needed.
- Must have a sound understanding of PLC systems and be able to share technical information with Manufacturing technical support.
- Must be able to lead Projects and contribute to cost-saving measures without compromising Quality.
- Must conduct safety training for Maintenance 2nd shift team to ensure personnel are all current with the company monthly EHS Trainings and Specialty maintenance trainings
SAFETY
- Understands, works and leads all safety protocols, adheres to the safe use of devices and their operation, as directed by Maintenance Manager
- Complies with Cal/OSHA, Safety and Health procedures.
- Wears and maintains all required PPE.
- Notifies management of any malfunctioning or missing equipment prior to operation.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Directs maintenance department employees to perform all aspects of work safely and efficiently.
- Provides guidance on preventive maintenance, assist with troubleshooting, repairs, and oversees installation of new equipment.
- Spends most of the time on the production floor.
- Must work with employees to set yearly goals and expectations and follow up with their progress for annual reviews.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must poses technical skills in maintenance processes and methods.
- Must be able to make sound decisions when equipment failures occur as well as emergencies, ensuring that safety is always at the top of the list when making critical decisions.
- Must be detail orientated, a problem solver and be resolution oriented, always seeking
permanent solutions. - Able to work in a team environment and provide assistance for both shifts, as needed.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- PLC Experience
- Bachelor's degree in business or related area preferred and 1-2 years supervisory
experience - 3+ years' experience with steel framing/ fabrication, lath, accessory environment, and
transportation management of steel related products. - Strong written and oral communications.
- Ability to read blueprints, tape measure, micrometer, and caliper accurately.
- Bilingual in Spanish - strongly preferred.
