DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION


  1. Assistnursing staff /ancillary staff in transferring patients from bed to bed,stretcher or wheelchair, pickup, and delivery of patient meal trays, and assistingwith patient feeding as directed.
  2. Demonstrate the ability to organize workload and manage multiple tasks while maintaininga clutter-free and orderly environment including prompt answering of unit telephones andaccuratedelivery of messages and information to patients, families, visitors, staff, and personnel upon request.
  3. Educate and trainnew staffmembers in the responsibilities of the Care Team Associate role.
  4. Perform other duties as delegated by nursing staff and unit management as needed in both routine and emergent situations.
  5. Perform patient position changes, placement and removal of patient equipment, daily hygiene care, simple non-sterile dressing changes, finger stick glucose checks, may perform venipuncture to obtain a blood sample,maintainquality control checks, and deliver/retrieve lab specimens and supplies asrequested.
  6. Responsible foraccurateandtimelyentry of information into the bed-management system.
  7. Responsible for prompt response to patient call lights and addressing patient needs using positive guest relations skills while ensuring patient vital signs, intake, output, height, and weight are obtained and documented as directed.
  8. May complete unit/department specific duties as outlined in departmentdocuments.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

One of the following:

--Completion of a Fundamentals of Nursing course within180 days; or

--Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA); or

--Experience with direct patient care such as a medical assistant, nursing

assistant, emergency medical technician (EMT), or surgical technician in the past three (3) years; or

--Completion within the last three (3) years, or will complete within180 days, an Unlicensed Assistive Personnel (UAP) training program; or

--Nursing licensure candidate who was unsuccessful on the state licensure

examinations in the past three (3) years; or

--Completion a nursing program outside the United States and is awaiting the licensure examination in this country.

Completion ofanabove qualification's pathway, including patient care experience or a supervised clinical log, within180 daysas a condition of continued employment in this job classification.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Additionallicense/certification requirements asdeterminedby the hiring

department.
