POSITION SUMMARY:

The Sr. Receiving and Inventory Coordinator plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the facility by managing the receiving, storage, and distribution of medical supplies and equipment. This position requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

We are excited to add a new Sr. Receiving & Inventory Coordinator to our Distribution team! This role will pay a base salary between $18.00 - $24.00 per hour based on experience and other factors.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Receiving and Inspection:


    • Receive deliveries of medical supplies, equipment, and pharmaceuticals
    • Inspect deliveries for accuracy, completeness, and quality
    • Verify quantities received against purchase orders and packing slips
    • Document and report any discrepancies or damages to appropriate personnel



  • Inventory Management:



    • Maintain accurate inventory records using electronic inventory management systems
    • Monitor inventory levels and reorder supplies as needed to prevent stockouts
    • Rotate stock and manage expiration dates to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
    • Conduct regular inventory audits to reconcile discrepancies and identify areas for improvement


  • Storage and Distribution:


    • Properly store and organize medical supplies and equipment in designated storage areas
    • Ensure that storage areas are clean, well-maintained, and compliant with safety regulations
    • Prepare and pack items for distribution to various departments within the facility
    • Coordinate with department heads to fulfill special requests and urgent needs


  • Documentation and Reporting:


    • Maintain thorough and accurate documentation of all receiving and inventory activities
    • Generate reports on inventory levels, usage trends, and procurement needs
    • Communicate effectively with purchasing, finance, and other departments to facilitate procurement processes
    • Assist with the preparation of budgets and forecasts related to inventory management


  • Compliance and Quality Assurance:


    • Adhere to all regulatory requirements and industry standards related to inventory management and storage
    • Participate in quality assurance activities, including inspections and audits
    • Collaborate with regulatory agencies and internal auditors during inspections and assessments
    • Implement best practices for inventory control and recommend process improvements as needed

  • Selects correct processes from clearly prescribed rules, past practices, or instruction
  • Seeks advice and guidance on non-routine or problem areas from supervisor. Any deviations from the norm are cleared by the supervisor



DECISION MAKING/SCOPE OF AUTHORITY:



  • Under close supervision, exercises limited latitude/independent judgement and decision making
  • Work typically involves detailed checks or close review of output by a senior coworker and/or supervisor



SPAN OF CONTROL/COMPLEXITY:



  • Entry level support role requiring basic skills; can perform some of the basic tasks within the function; some impact at the job or department level



EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:



  • HS Diploma or GED; and/or 4-5 years of experience in area of responsibility
  • Have a good overall understanding of DC workflow and can work with minimal guidance
  • Understanding of computerized inventory management systems
  • Prefer 4-5 years of inventory and/or materials management experience in a business involving both domestic and international distribution points
  • Must be able to work overtime when necessary and participate in all physical inventory
  • Must be a team player and demonstrate effective communication and problem-solving skills
  • Maintains a clean work area to ensure that product remains clean and help prevent work related injuries
  • Prefer experience working in a regulated industry
  • Prefer experience working in medical device industry or human donor tissue recovery and distribution industry (i.e. tissue banks)
  • Prefer experience working in an International Standards Organization (ISO) or Good Manufacturing Procedures (GMP) environment preferred
  • Knowledge of FedEx, UPS, and DHL shipping systems a plus



SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:



  • Previous experience in inventory management, receiving, or warehouse operations, preferably in a medical device setting.
  • Proficiency in using inventory management software and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Physical ability to lift and move heavy objects and stand for extended periods.



WORK ENVIRONMENT/EXPECTED BUSINESS TRAVEL:

The work is typically performed in a normal office environment. Role routinely uses standard office equipment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
