Shift: Nights, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, Rotating every other weekend

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Unit Description:

Henry Ford St John Hospital's 7 North is a 33-bed unit consisting of orthopedic & neurosurgery patients. We also take overflow med/surg patients as well as some telemetry patients. Our unit is fast paced, typically consisting of 7-8 RN's and 3 PCTs daily, and we typically see anywhere from 3 to 12 surgeries on a daily basis where we handle the postoperative care. Day shift RNs typically have a patient ratio of 3-4 patient to 1; night shift RNs typically have a patient ratio of 4-6 patients to one. Come join our team!

• Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.
• Implement and monitor patient care plans.
• Monitor, record and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
• Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
