They may assist in designing and fabricating tools, conducting tests, creating parts and drawings using computer-aided design (CAD) software, developing test methods, and writing technical reports. Interns are often treated like entry-level engineers, expected to follow directions, demonstrate motivation and enthusiasm, and apply their technical knowledge to real-world projects. This hands-on experience not only enhances their technical skills but also helps them understand workplace dynamics and develop professional competencies. Minimum Qualifications Enrolled in a degree seeking program at UNM, Enrolled at least half-time (6 hours) at UNM for fall and spring semesters (Audit hours do not count), and if Work Study, you must meet Satisfactory Academic Progress.
