Summary:

Reviews, reports on and reduces excess and obsolete inventory. May recommend or take corrective actions as appropriate and as required to control inventory levels and disposition aged inventory.

Responsibilities:

  • Reduce excess and obsolete inventory; Work with material coordinators to pull material for Return to Vendor (RTV) or scrap
  • Coordinate material returns with Purchasing and Program Management
  • Work with specialized reporting in conjunction with IT
  • Look for inefficiencies for reporting Excess/Obsolete (E/O) inventory; Implement changes as approved by senior level employees or management
  • Identify specific E/O inventory issues and recommends effective dispositioning to management
  • Provide information collected from analysis and E/O reports
  • Participate in selecting areas for analysis
  • Recognize inefficiencies and enhance the current process for reporting Excess/Obsolete (E/O) inventory; Recommend improvements and implement as approved
  • Develop specialized reporting in conjunction with IT
  • Provide information collected from analysis and E/O reports with recommendations based on analytical summaries
Level 2:
  • Complexity: Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Networks with senior internal and external personnel in own area of expertise.
  • Discretion: A seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of area of specialization; resolves a wide range of issues in creative ways
  • Supervision: Normally receives little instruction on day-to-day work, general instructions on new assignments.
  • Qualifications: 4 year degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience as approved by executive management; 4+ years of experience in scheduling / inventory management with more complex and larger accounts; experience leading and mentoring others in complex materials management tasks.
