Materials Analysis is an Oxford Instruments Business Unit that manages our Electron Microscopy and Mechanical Microscopy products, Atomic Force Microscopes, Raman Microscopes and Benchtop NMR Products. We are looking for a Product Configuration Engineer. The Product Configuration Engineer plays an integral role in configuring products in our cloud ERP system, deals with order entry issues and helping them to get properly loaded, as well as managing Business processes to release new configurations.

This role is ideal if...



  • You have a methodical approach to understanding the needs of the business and implementing tools and processes to manage complex needs, with a continuous improvement mentality.
  • You can resolve problems using existing solutions and within clearly defined methodologies
  • Use best practice knowledge of internal or external business challenges to improve new or
  • existing products services or processes
  • You can identify solutions in a variety of applications within the area of knowledge and / or expertise




  • You understand engineering drawings and sub-assembly details to the level needed to advise others


  • You have experience ordering and manufacturing processes and how they affect the configuration of assemblies

Role and responsibilities:



  • Work closely with the Product Configuration Team Leader to ensure that all configurations

    are set up as required by price list changes, new projects and engineering changes to existing projects
  • Working closely with Order Entry and order checking to help guide the appropriate loading of new orders, especially complex or non-standard orders
  • Working closely with Sales to understand the customer needs for complex orders including upgrade orders
  • Working with all Stakeholders to ensure BPs are processed appropriately, driving them through the system as needed to meet the SLA
  • Maintain the Specials and Variants Planner board



Location and working hours:

This is a hybrid role in High Wycombe. We have a 37 hour working week, with flexible working hours and a 12:30 Friday finish.
