Position Description

Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory (CSHL) is a world-renowned scientific research organization located on the north shore of Long Island that has maintained a National Cancer Institute-designated Cancer Center since 1987. The CSHL Cancer Center is focused on discovering fundamental mechanisms driving cancer development and progression and exploiting these discoveries to develop novel cancer diagnosis and treatment methods. The CSHL Cancer Center is seeking a Cancer Center Coordinator to provide administrative coordination and general logistical support to the Center's Leadership and Administration in their initiatives.


Position Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to the Cancer Center Leadership and Administration
  • Assist with preparation and submission of grant applications and progress reports
  • Organize, develop agendas for, and document Center meetings
  • Coordinate, create advertisements for, and disseminate information for Cancer Center seminar series and events
  • Assist with gathering, recording, and summarizing Center data, such as member grants and publications
  • Serve as liaison for Cancer Center visitors and speakers, including members of the External Advisory Board
  • Request information from Center members needed for reporting or strategic decision making
  • Assist with tracking Cancer Center trainee outcomes, such as trainee papers, fellowships, and next positions
  • Manage digital presence, including email lists, website, and social media
  • Other duties as assigned

Position Requirements

EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree in administration or related discipline a plus.
EXPERIENCE: 1-2 years of relevant working experience required. Experience working in a coordinator, administrator, or program manager role preferred.
SKILLS: Excellent attention to detail as well as time-management, problem solving, interpersonal, and communication skills are required. Familiarity with Microsoft Office is required. Familiarity with Google Suite and Dropbox preferred.

The salary range and/or hourly rate listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation that may be offered to a successful applicant for this position at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future.
