We are hiring for a Business Intelligence Analyst - Merchandising, who will be responsible for the design, creation and reporting of financial performance analysis for the Merchandising team serving approximately 400 convenience stores located from Maine to Texas.

This position will work in the Merchandising department, along with other internal teams and our external brand partners to maximize item sales, basket sales, transactions and profits across our promotions and loyalty platforms.

  • Engage with Merchandising Team leadership to understand their data needs, ensuring the delivery of tailored analytics solutions.
  • Strong strategic, analytical and critical thinking skills; strong bias towards data-based decision making with the ability to break down complex problems and formulate plans.
  • Ability to navigate large, complex datasets to derive insights and communicate findings to stakeholders.
  • Define analytical requirements with business units, ensuring data models align with business needs for actionable insights focusing on maximizing ROI.
  • Provide timely insights and analytical support to different internal stakeholders to support effective business decision-making.
  • Act as a key stakeholder in managing change requests, prioritization, and communication of milestones for Analytics & Data projects.
  • Develop real-time data visualization dashboards using Tableau to develop automated reports for internal teams
  • Standardize analytical methodologies, including statistical tests for hypothesis testing and validation, across the Merchandising Team.
  • Fluent in coding languages (intermediate SQL is a must) to join various data sources and enhance data sets
  • Monitor KPIs and performance to measure the effectiveness of business decisions

Qualifications

  • 4-year college degree with a concentration in business, economics or statistics is preferred.
  • 3 - 7 years of previous work experience in quantitative and qualitative analysis.
  • Proficient in Tableau with a minimum of 2 years experience developing dashboards and publishing reports
  • Knowledge in advanced analytics, retail transaction data, modeling.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL with the ability to write complex queries blending data from various sources.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with leading BI and analytics tools such as Tableau or PowerBI, and a proven ability to create intuitive and impactful visualizations that drive data-driven decision-making at all organizational levels.
  • Experience with Python or R is a plus.
  • Ability to navigate and/or desire to learn the modern data stack (dbt, snowflake, databricks, git, fivetran, etc), and passion for staying on the leading edge of analytics technology.
  • Demonstrated expertise in uncovering data insights and providing actionable business recommendations. Should possess the ability to draw meaningful narratives from data and transform them into visually compelling stories.
  • Experience with experimental design and measurement techniques like A/B testing.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Tableau, PowerPoint, Power BI).
  • Outstanding communication skills, enabling seamless collaboration with diverse teams and articulate presentation of findings in simple language to varied audiences, including executive leadership.
  • Intellectual curiosity, a forward-thinking mindset, and a commitment to sharing knowledge and pioneering new insights.
