General Summary of Position Primary Duties and Responsibilities Provides coverage for staffing as required for successful completion of educational aspects of Residency Program. Drug Information and Drug Use Policy Development: Under supervision of Residency Coordinator or designee, completes all requirements for ASHP Residency Program, including but not limited to the following: Responds to evaluative and non-evaluative drug information request Performs drug use evaluations. Prepares monographs and other reports (medication errors, adverse drug reactions, etc.) as required Participates in the development, implementation, and management of clinical practice guidelines and therapeutic interchange programs Provides in-service education for pharmacists and other healthcare professionals. Participates in quality improvement and medication use review activities. Includes collecting data, monitoring processes, analyzing data and generating reports. Practice Management: Under supervision of Residency Coordinator or designee, completes all requirements for ASHP Residency Program, including but not limited to the following: Participates in the conduct of quality assurance activities Participates in the development of the department budget and other financial reports Participates in the development of departmental statistical report Completes a research project. Participates in formulary management, including strategic planning for drug shortages. Participates in multidisciplinary quality and service improvement teams. Participates in meetings and on committees and represents the department and hospital in community outreach efforts. Performs other duties as assigned. Contributes to the achievement of established department goals and objectives and adheres to department policies, procedures, quality standards and safety standards. Complies with governmental and accreditation regulations. Minimum Qualifications
