This position is involved in new store, remodel and capital project construction. This role will represent Meijer to outside contractors to assure that corporate standards are met and project objectives are accomplished. This role also works primarily in the field overseeing multiple projects at various locations.

What You'll be Doing:

  • Oversee field oversight of various construction initiatives including new construction, remodels and capital projects.
  • Take ownership of contractor performance on Meijer projects.
  • Provide project coordination among contractors, Meijer Properties and operators.
  • Monitor construction schedules and activities for compliance with project and program requirements.
  • Progress reporting, field communications, incident reports.
  • Provide feedback to designers, etc. on document accuracy, areas for improvement, etc.
  • Establish project delivery schedules for Meijer furnished equipment and provides receiving documentation.
  • Conduct pre-construction and progress meetings.
  • Coordinate Meijer vendor installation.
  • Conduct field inspections, verification of work in place, quality assurance.
  • Participate in facility compliance surveys.
  • Coordinate project completion certification, punch-lists, closeout and warranty activities.

What You Bring with You (Qualifications)

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field preferred.
  • 1-2 years of experience preferred.
  • Ability to read and comprehend construction drawings and technical specifications.
  • Familiarity with commercial construction building codes.
  • MS Project, Excel, Word.
