Description

Candidate must have excellent experience moving product through the manufacturing process, quickly resolving quality issues, be it dimensional issues, customer issues, supplier issues, or related paper work to ensure all specifications and requirements for delivery of flight safety close tolerance aerospace parts and assemblies is met.

Essential Functions and Duties:



  • Typical duties/responsibilities for quality may include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Must be knowledgeable in a wide variety of manufacturing and inspection processes and techniques including machining, bench inspection, First Article presentation, Coordinate Measurement Machines (CMM), Non Destructive Testing (NDT), shot peen/surface treat processes.
  • Must have contemporary analytical skills in areas such as Statistical Process Control (SPC), Root Cause / Corrective Action (RCCA), Failure Modes Effects Analysis (FMEA), and Value Stream Mapping (VSM).
  • Must have experience leading hourly Inspectors of all levels and disciplines to work through problems and issues associated with inspection of parts.
  • Must be knowledgeable in quality systems and administration, consistent with AS9100/ISO9000 practices.
  • Capable of operating with minimal oversight and general direction.
  • Diversified knowledge in engineering, manufacturing, and quality required.
  • Must work safely at all times. Participate in safety improvement initiatives by raising any safety concerns and helping to come up with corrective actions.
  • May be assigned to carry out tasks, not specifically listed, within the scope and skill level of this job description in support of department or cell objectives and to develop individuals' skills.

Requires strong technical, analytical and reasoning capability. Also requires effective verbal and written communication skills along with advanced interpersonal skills. Strong project management skills are required. Must be able to collaborate with other departments and functions in achieving position responsibilities. Requires independent thinking, judgment and self-starter bias.



Position Requirements

Education & Experience Required:



  • Bachelors degree in Engineering or related field. Alternatively, a special c
  • ombination of education and experience and/or demonstrated accomplishments.
  • 5-10 years of experience in the manufacturing industry; Aerospace preferred.
  • Experience in a unionized environment is a plus.
  • Ability to read and interpret Drawings, Blueprints and GD&T symbols
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Powerpoint
