We are currently seeking an Equipment and Tool Control Specialist to support our customer in Crane, IN. The ideal candidate will be able to perform the following duties, as well as possess the following education and experience.

Duties:



  • Obtains customer requirements and provides technical data, recommendations, alternate substitutes, and inventory spares to satisfy requirements. Ensures needs of customers are met through status reporting and workload coordination efforts.
  • Coordinates the recall of equipment due calibration and schedules priority services with the Calibration Laboratory.
  • Schedules calibration support for standards and standard support equipment serviced by NAVSEA higher echelon and/or commercial accredited calibration service providers.
  • Determines which off Center calibration facility is capable of providing the required support through capability analysis and makes necessary arrangements for calibration support.
  • Coordinates repair support for failed equipment and determines the cost effectiveness of repair versus procurement, whether to repair in-house or off-Center, and coordinates with the Customer.
  • Initiates the repair, prepares all documentation, and follows up through receipt acceptance for all T&ME.
  • Determines which equipment/parts should be retained for repair parts.
  • Ensures the Property Management Team is notified of receipt of equipment.
  • Ensures all T&ME is properly stored in assigned storage locations, barcoded, and handled in a safe and proper manner.
  • Performs a visual inspection and count when equipment is received new.
  • Follows standardization rules for entering information in the Metbench Calibration Management System (MCMS) database.
  • Ensures all data base documentation and handling of equipment is accomplished promptly, accurately, and in accordance with established processes and procedures.
  • Receives and processes requests for T&ME, ensuring the condition and status, prior to delivery to the user.
  • Provides procurement support for Test and Measurement Equipment. In this capacity, the incumbent will be tasked with the following duties: Working closely with engineers, technicians, and project managers, incumbent will identify and analyze procurement requirements and select the best procurement approach. Develop procurement request packages, including preparing purchase orders, credit card buys, leases, etc. after attempting to locate potential substitute equipment elsewhere on Center, which may be provided in lieu of procurement.
  • The TCPC will conduct and document a Semi-Annual Review of all tool containers owned by each Work Center Supervisor. This will include a visual verification of all tool containers as well as a verification that all tool container inventories were complete for the year as required in accordance with the COMNAVAIRFORINST 4790.2 series.
  • Maintains an accurate tool inventory list of all replacement tools on hand.
  • Marks replacement tools with the complete identification prior to use.
  • Receives all worn/broken tool reports and tools for replacement and disposition.


Desired Education:



  • High school/vocational school degree or GED certificate.


Desired Experience:



  • 7 years professional experience in integrated logistics support.


Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. Due to the sensitivity of customer-related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.
